Healthy food diet while you're expecting

Now that you're a mum-to-be, it is important to eat well. Getting your diet right for pregnancy is more about what you eat than about how much.

Eat a variety of foods from these different food groups each day to stay healthy while you're expecting:

 

Milk and dairy products: These foods are high in calcium, protein and Vitamin B-12.

Cereals, whole grains, dals, pulses and nuts: They are good sources of protein.

Vegetables and fruits: These provide vitamins, minerals and fibre.

Meat, fish and poultry: They provide concentrated proteins.

Fluids: Drink lots of fluids, especially water and fresh fruit juices to stay hyderated and healthy
