When you are pregnant you are constantly thinking about the life within. Even when you sleep, you can’t truly “rest” until you know how to sleep comfortably during pregnancy.
So, to set your mind at ease, here are some tips for a good nights’ sleep during your nine-month adventure.
Nursing is altogether a different experience for every mother and baby. You may be nervous and worried about this initially. However, with little advice and suggestions you feel comfortable and at ease with the entire nursing process.
Here are some helpful nursing tips for new moms: -
1. Position yourself right
Once you feel better after the delivery and are able to sit upright, try to sit in a reclining position, holding your baby rightly. A reclining position will give more skin-to-skin contact to the baby, help to achieve a better latch and give a good start to breastfeeding.
Moreover, a skin-to-skin contact will help your baby feel secure, protected, and give him adequate assurance and support to start suckling and get on with breastfeeding.
2. Watch the baby not the clock
Instead of setting timings for feeding, look for your baby’s early signs of wanting to have milk, such as rooting, licking his lips or putting his hands in his mouth.
Try to nurse before the baby starts to cry. Crying can make it difficult to settle the baby down for a good feeding. Moreover, crying causes baby to swallow lots of air that can cause stomach pain in the infant later.
3. Look for proper nursing tops
As with breastfeeding anywhere, it's important to wear clothes that make nursing simple. The lesser fuss, the better it is for you and the baby — especially when you have to hold a hungry baby with one hand and adjust your body with the other.
In such situations, its best to invest into some nursing tops -just lift the hem of your nursing top and tuck in your baby! That way, your midriff and most of your breast will not be exposed when you pull up the nursing top to feed.

4. Have a healthy diet
At this stage, your body is working around the clock to make breast milk for your baby. Hence, it’s obvious for moms to feel extra hungry. Eating smaller meals with healthy snacks in between is a good way to keep your hunger in check and your energy level high.
Remember not to try to lose weight by dieting until at least two months after your baby is born. A reduced-calorie diet in the first couple of months could deplete your energy and diminish your milk supply. However, if you are already obese and too concerned about putting on excess pounds, talk to your doctor or a healthcare provider, as they will help you with a proper diet plan and help you maintain a healthy weight during breastfeeding.
5. Talk to others
Motherhood is totally a new role that needs to be learned. Hence, it’s important that you keep the lines of communication open! Do not keep concerns to yourself. Communicate with other breastfeeding mothers, lactation consultants, your doctor, family members, or friends who have already breastfed. It will not only make you confident, but will also give you an extra boost to enjoy the phase of motherhood in a beautiful way.
You are pregnant! Congratulations!! You probably have long to-do list right now. Right from announcing the good news to your close friends and relatives, scheduling regular appointments with your doctor, buying tons of food items that you just can't stop craving, to shopping for your maternity wear.
